Camp Programs Great Hollow is excited to return T.E.A.M. Survivor (Together Everyone Achieves More) to our summer wilderness camp programming! Focusing on wilderness skills, teambuilding, and adventure challenges, TEAM Survivor Camp is back and even better. For each week of camp, Thursdays will be an optional overnight for our TEAM Survivors during which campers will learn basic camp craft and fire building techniques. Overnight Programs The philosophical underpinnings of including a wilderness expedition in preparation for an intense academic program are simple. In small expedition crews, students quickly learn that in order for each of them and the group to thrive, everyone must work together to realize their potentials for greatness. The difficulties they face during the expedition are often foreign to them, such as cooking a meal using a fire they built, or hiking miles to the top of a mountain, but these challenges serve as metaphors students will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Homeschool Programs Our Whole Earth and Adventure Programs are designed to offer experiences difficult if not impossible to replicate at home. The Whole Earth programs garner an awareness of the world around us while creating a vibrant learning community among students. Day Programs Great Hollow Wilderness School offers challenge course programs aimed at fostering positive attitudes towards teamwork, leadership and growth through active, experiential learning. Classes from local public schools come to Great Hollow to experience a progressive series of low and high ropes course activities designed to address issues of self-discovery, trust, team building and problem solving.
